The Righteous shall not be Put to Shame
Opening Verse
1 Peter 2:6 (ESV)
6 For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Who are the Righteous?
2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
The Promise for the Righteous
The righteous shall not be put to shame

- We must exercise enough faith in God’s word enough to seek and follow His guidance.

4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

- We must exercise faith in God’s mercy enough to ask for a receive His forgiveness and His righteousness by faith. God will hide you from shame, despite your past mistakes and sins.

6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

Psalm 25:16-18 (KJV)
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

- Pray and stand in faith that God will deliver you and give you grace to live victory over the sin that causes shame and reproach.

21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

80 May my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes so that I will not be put to shame.
- Cast off the shame and reproach of past sins by trusting God’s forgiveness and the blood of Jesus that makes you righteous.
Zephaniah 3:11-13 (HCSB)
11 On that day you will not be put to shame because of everything you have done in rebelling against Me. For then I will remove your proud, arrogant people from among you, and you will never again be haughty on My holy mountain.
12 I will leave a meek and humble people among you, and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh.
